THE LOWER THAMES CROSSING

THE LOWER THAMES CROSSING

We have worked on multiple LTC work packages partnering up with both consultancies and ground investigation companies. The Lower Thames Crossing is one of the largest and most ambitious road schemes proposing a new road tunnel that will connect Kent and Essex, easing congestion for daily commuters.

HINKLEY POINT C NUCLEAR POWER STATION

HINKLEY POINT C NUCLEAR POWER STATION

HPC is currently under construction in Somerset, England. We have been lucky enough to have continued involvement across a multitude of Geotechnical and Civil projects, including its in-fall and out-fall tunnels. Once completed, the power station is expected to have the capacity to power around 6 million homes in the UK.

HIGH SPEED 2

HIGH SPEED 2

Having been involved in HS2 since the early design stages, this project is very close to our hearts. We have worked with design consultancies, tier 1 and 2 contractors and Ground Investigation companies assisting on planning and change management. Once complete, the line will be built to accommodate trains travelling at speeds of up to 400 km/h, which is significantly faster than the current maximum of 201 km/h on the UK’s existing high speed rail network.

DEVONPORT 10 DOCKYARD

DEVONPORT 10 DOCKYARD

Works have started on 10 Dock and a new facility to support the maintenance programme for ‘new and existing classes of submarines’ such as the new Dreadnought-class ballistic subs due to arrive in service in the 2030’s. Current planning works span trial piling, remediation and main piling works.

THE RIVER THAMES SCHEME

THE RIVER THAMES SCHEME

RTS will consist of a new flood channel in two sections, through Runnymede and Spelthorne in Surrey – and an increase in capacity at three weirs and the Desborough Cut. The nature of the works are currently both over water and land based drilling to further expand our knowledge on both geological and geotechnical principles.

COIRE GLAS HYDRO SCHEME

COIRE GLAS HYDRO SCHEME

Coire Glas, like all pumped hydro storage schemes, will be a major civil engineering construction project and has an estimated construction time of 5-6 years. We have been involved in the predesign, ground investigation and geotechnical approaches to the project and are looking forward to the start of this very ambitious project.
